The finished product was really good. My boots were like new. However, in the end, I paid over $230 dollars. I paid $65 for the resole and about $35 for shipping them back to me. I spent about $40 for insurance at USPS. I also spent $45 for customs on the Italy end and another $44 for duties the Italy end. Again, the product returned to me was really well done but the expense of getting my boots resoled in Italy was really high. When I bought the boots they cost me about $200 ten years ago (2012).

What I liked: the shoes after resoling look very new again. They have a different sole profile than previously but that is fine. What I did not like: you have to pay in advance for the service, not knowing how good it is. There are no examples on the webpage of Asolo. how well it worked. Only after the shoes had been already sent off to Italy I finally got a reply from a person. Before that I was receiving automated messages. That felt not very reassuring after paying the money and not knowing if the service will actually work. So please give some examples on your webpage how a shoe repair cycle works preferably with some pictures or a video. And reply through a customer service agent rather than a generic message without any association to a person. Thank you.

- Please try to reduce shipping costs. Even though I measured my foot size, the delivered shoes were a bit small for me. But it was too late; I couldn't get a new one due to time limitations and not without paying the extra fee of return. For me, that was ~25euros (NL to IT), which was a bit too much. So in total I had to pay ~40euros for something I didn't keep. - Try to shut down asolonederland. It's a scam.

I received the order very fast. However the fit was not perfect and when I looked at returning the item, it said online it was not possible with a guest account. So I emailed to ask about this and did not receive a reply.

Boot was well made and of good height. Support was adequate. Footbed is too narrow and white lining gets soiled quickly. Would not purchase again.

Recently I purchased a pair of Asolo Greenwood boots at size 12. They were too small and I requested a return after the 15 day grace period. They declined. Next i went with some Eldo shoes at 12 1/2. They were way too big. Not sure what’s happened but it seems to me that the sizes have shifted. I’ve been a lifelong Asolo purchaser. Customer service provides robot responses. Nothing special. Boots and shoes still are Well made however the unpredictability in sizing and poor customer service or causing me to rethink Asolo.

I was a great fan of Asolo. This is my 3rd pais of hiking boot. As it is almost impossible to find in North America, I decided to order the boot directly using your chart for the size. It doesn't work there are to short even if it was the size indicated. I tried twice and I am losing my nails ! So a lot of money lost.

I was surprised to find out how much additional shipping and customs I wound up having to pay, when shipping was included in the original cost. It was not made clear enough, I think, that only your return shipping was included in that, and had I known in advance how much it would actually cost I might have chosen not to repair the boots. On the other hand, once I received the boots, I was very happy with the quality of the repair that was done. Your staff did very good work. So it was a mixed experience. Thanks. David New

The trail shoes I just ordered from what I thought was Asolo, I suspect was some kind of generic company impersonating Asolo. These shoes are not the same quality as I've always received from Asolo, and they apparently were made in Vietnam. From what I read and understand about Asolo, ALL of their shoes are made in either Romania or Italy. Had I noticed that they were manufactured in Vietnam (Asia), I would not have ordered them. These shoes are definitely inferior to what I've always received from Asolo; when I put them on, I immediately realized they did not fit well at all -- Asolo boots and shoes have always fit perfectly right out of the box. I've been ordering products for well over 35 years. Also the tracking information and the shipment in general was obviously not from Italy, as they indicated.

Sending my boots to Italy for repairs (new soles) was probably not the best idea in terms of cost and expediency. Shipping was over $100 US dollars, and repairs and shipping cost another $150 US dollars; it also took about four months to get my boots back. However, the re-sole job is phenomenal and better than could have been done in the US. Asolo also reconditioned the outside of my boots and they look new! I think I’ll be able to wear them another 15 years! Three stars because of the cost and the wait, but I think it may have been worth it.

Great work, though response time was slow. Additionally, I was charged for duty, which would’ve been nice to plan for as I calculated whether to make the repair.

Asolo should not resoling outside Europe since it does not want to pay very strange custom fees when receiving shoes in Italy. I paid netto for resoling 50% of the ptice of an equivalent Asolo new shoe !!!
