The buying process was simple and I received the product in a relatively decent time frame. Unfortunately, I had to return the item as it was slightly too small. This is where the problems began. I found the return process difficult. At first I tried to complete the form through my account page and the return tab. It did not work. Customer service was very prompt in assisting and guiding me to the correct link. Having made the return I have had no communication from La Sportiva regarding it (confirmation of return, timeline for refund). The product was excellent, unfortunately not the correct sizing, and I want to order a new size that will hopefully fit, but the process has put me off.

Bought a pair of shoes. Sizing didn’t feel accurate and therefore went to exchange my product for a larger size. Was told that there wasn’t an exchange system and had to return it. Once the product was delivered la sportiva’s response to the receivable was disjointed and slow, finally only refunding me a portion of the cost and not the entire price I paid.

I asked the question three times in all possible ways. They promised to contact me, but they never gave me an answer.

Shopping was good. 4 stars. However the email address listed as contact for refunds does not work. I contacted about a refund a week ago due to shoes being too small and I have received no response.

The shopping was fine. Loved the idea of the shoes. Payment went easy. I even got a big 10 percent discount for first purchase. Although i bought express shipping and waited 7 days, i had no news from my shoes. 10 days later i received an email saying it hadn't even been shipped. They reimbursed the shipping money but not the shoes. Never got my shoes or news afterwards. I reclaimed them and the customer service said they would check again but then no news again.. 😕 it has been one month. Had to go buy other shoes. Probably not as good but still will be adapted to my feet on time before my trekking expedition. Wont buy online again and will now ask for a full reimbursement. Hope they will follow.

Product arrived damaged. No response from the La Sportiva customer service to solve this despite numerous requests. Tried to email them directly, send a message via Instagram and used the form on their website. No response until now.

These shoes are great and I buy them regularly. The service however was very poor this time. It took well over a week to arrive and there was no info on timescales at point of purchase, nor any warning of very considerable customs duties payable (£34 plus £10 admin fee). Had I known, I would not have proceeded. Of course Brexit is to blame for the duties, but customers ought to be informed of the payments due before they incur them.

Be wary of import taxes if in UK! The shoes arrived a week after placing order, they are running small despite ordering my usual EU size. The return process looked a bit unclear to me so I persevered with the shoes , loosened laces etc and eventually felt like I could keep them. . Then two weeks later I received a email from FedEx stating I owed £69 import duties. . I checked with La Sportva if this was correct and they referred me back to their general T&C’s which I couldn’t find on the website. ( I placed my order using my phone) There is a generic banner at the top which refers to extra EU countries & import charges, but again this is not legible when using a mobile device. I’ve sent my concerns to La Sportiva to say that I don’t think this is explicit enough, there should be clearer warning’s when purchasing. But they haven’t replied so far ( despite me sending a screenshot) . So a) the shoes run small b) the shoes are expensive c) there are extortionate import duties on top. B) I’ll never buy from them again.

The ridiculous export and duties are not explained properly when you go to pay. The ‘free’ shipping is totally misleading! If I’d know the extra cost I would NOT of purchased the item.

Hello, I recently purchased the Trango Tech Leather boots. Even with a toe room of 1.3 cm, the size was not sufficient. I wanted to exchange the product for a larger size and attempted to use the return form on your website. Unfortunately, the form did not work properly. When I contacted your customer service for help, I was simply referred back to the same non-functional form. Eventually, I sent the goods back, but the refund process is taking a very long time. I am disappointed by the lack of effective support and the complications with returning the item. I hope the refund will be processed soon. Kind regards, Cermak

Firstly, great shoes, ease of purchase on website and speed of delivery to uk was excellent. However the whole experience was overshadowed by the courier (fed ex) charging £45 for import duty. I know customs duties happen but there was no mention of this at the point of purchase and in effect it added approximately 30% to the price of the shoes making them expensive. Had I known this at the point of purchase I probably wouldn’t have gone for it and this experience will definitely make me think twice about buying direct from La Sportiva again.

I did not understand that there was no distribution agent in Australia, and that my shoes would cost so much to send from Italy. When they were not the correct size, then i spent quite a lot of money to post back.

Company information

La Sportiva was born in 1928 when Narciso Delladio hand-crafted wooden leather boots for many lumber-jacks and farmers of the Fassa and Fiemme valleys (Dolomites, Italy). After the war, the demand for boots increased obliging Narciso to hire new workers: the good name of "Calzoleria Sportiva" crossed the boarders of the valleys. Starting from here the La Sportiva’s history continued to grow. Now the firm produces in Fiemme Valley boots and shoes for all kind of outdoor activities from climbing and mountain, categories in which La Sportiva has the market leadership, to mountain running, trekking and the skimountaineerging market. Recently the company entered in the skimountaineering segment and in the apparel market with a complete selection of technical clothes for running, skimountaineering and climbing. La Sportiva who produces mainly in his headquarter at Ziano di Fiemme, is distributed in more then 70 countries worldwide.
