Shipping was fine, but the return process was painful. The return website didn't work, so I had to contact support. Then, I had to organise my own label to return the shoes.

The parcel was delayed, and therefore I needed to return it. However, a bit unfortunate that I have to pay return cost myself.

There was no warning upon purchase that the item was not available in the warehouse for shipping, so there was a delay (with lack of communication of how many days this would be) which meant they arrived late for my trip.

The shopping experience was fine. The shoes are fantastic as I knew they would be, they’re a replacement pair. However, I feel La Sportiva should warn customers from the UK that there chosen delivery company will charge them extortionate duties and taxes for delivering a pair of trainers. This on top of already expensive shoes, disgraceful!

Website was good, post Brexit import fees weren't clear. The courier (FedEx) charged an additional Disbursement Fee for paying the import tax which I didn't ask them to do.

I recall a few small wrinkles in the checkout flow. Can't remember the details but at some points I experienced some confusion.

I bought a pair of approach shoes, as I’ve never had LaSportiva before, the size I ordered was a tad too small- the one up was not available as the colourway I got was discounted. Unfortunately, I had to return for a refund. While the quality of the shoes seems decent(never wore to feedback more), I’m giving 3-stars as this is the first footwear retailer which I’ve come across that does not provide free returns. I’d be happy to pay more overall, if hassle free returns. That’s not the case. I regret I bought directly rather than from a stockist with more flexible return policy. Also, I had to send multiple emails to confirm refund not free- perhaps the CS team has misunderstood my question…. That was my personal experience. Would not be buying again from the official site. Am actually considering if I should still try the shoes I was after as the experience left a bitter taste…

All in all quite good, but mobile site is not really optimised and quite slow. My agency works with e-commerce and loyalty, and optimising for mobile and performance has a direct impact to CX and better SEO.

Found my size and fit questions weren’t answered. I requested specific help with correct fitting ie, larger size verses wider fit and didn’t receive helpful advice.

I could not find my size while shopping locally so choose to buy directly from La Sportiva. Upon delivery of my order I had a hefty import tax added, which left me feeling out of pocket.

I had to return a pair of shoes for another size, from the UK back to La sportiva. La sportiva customer service was excellent and quick at answering my email questions. Because i am in the UK i couldnt have an exchange i had to accept a refund and re-purchase the next size up. I did loose quite a bit of money from the delivery charges, return postage cost and duty charges. This is the first pair or La Sportiva shoes i own, hopefully I now know my size in this brand for any future orders.

I bought TX Hike Gtx on the online store and I could never sign in again or now the state of the order. Very bad. I have to send emails to have an answer. I receive the boots 4 or 5 days later. The boots were perfect.

Information on the company

La Sportiva was born in 1928 when Narciso Delladio hand-crafted wooden leather boots for many lumber-jacks and farmers of the Fassa and Fiemme valleys (Dolomites, Italy). After the war, the demand for boots increased obliging Narciso to hire new workers: the good name of "Calzoleria Sportiva" crossed the boarders of the valleys. Starting from here the La Sportiva’s history continued to grow. Now the firm produces in Fiemme Valley boots and shoes for all kind of outdoor activities from climbing and mountain, categories in which La Sportiva has the market leadership, to mountain running, trekking and the skimountaineerging market. Recently the company entered in the skimountaineering segment and in the apparel market with a complete selection of technical clothes for running, skimountaineering and climbing. La Sportiva who produces mainly in his headquarter at Ziano di Fiemme, is distributed in more then 70 countries worldwide.
