I suggest that the insulated shoes has a label on the web site that saids that they are narrow. Because I ordered the usual size and at the end I did two orders and two returns. Finally I prefer to find a store where I can try them on In order to not pay the extra shipping for another try.

The boots are just as described. The reviews helped me in selecting the size. They are comfortable and I was able to hike in them the first day.

After 16 years of military, and 10 as a police officer, these are the most comfortable boots I've ever worn, and only brand I'll ever buy again.

Garmont's military footwear was unknown to me until recently. I ordered a pair of their Bifida T8 boots based on the recommendation of other soldiers. High quality materials are used in the construction of the boots, and Garmont are innovative. For example, the Bifida T8 are constructed with an excellent Vibram (Bifida) sole that was selected for its weight, tread pattern, and comfort. Garmont didn't simply slap on any Vibram sole. These boots are provisioned with flat laces as you would expect on a pair of Chuck Taylor shoes. The choice of flat laces is a bit odd given my taste for round, tightly-woven, solid core boot laces. I don't understand the reason for such laces other than matching the comfort forward design of the boots. Laces are easy to change, so consider this informational as opposed to a criticism. My evaluation of the Bifida T8 footwear must end at this point. When I tried the boots for the first time, they seemed slightly too small. In retrying their fit during different times of the day and with different socks confirmed a fit mismatch for me. Fit is a no fault issue. In the present era, military footwear had undergone a renaissance similar to load carrying equipment and uniform materials/design. I simply had to size up and/or wider. Garmont is unable to directly exchange boots at this time. They take returns for this purpose, and you have to reorder. I am not very impressed by this, since I purchased the T8 on sale. The sale had expired during the time my boots were shipping to me. Perhaps Garmont will work this out. Candidly, I would overlook this inconvenience if I was established customer of Garmont's footwear. My experience of the RMA and subsequent return is where things didn't progress quickly. Ultimately, Garmont made things right, and this is what matters. Basically, I used Garmont's website to request a RMA within the 30 day period. After that I received nothing further from Garmont, and no one responded to my email requests for an update. Finally (luckily), I was asked to share my feedback and I used that opportunity to get the issue resolved--four months later! When I was connected to someone at Garmont, the return issue was resolved within one day. This person was pleasant and very professional. Based on my frustrations about the lag in the return process, I could justify rating Garmont three stars. However, that wouldn't be completely fair to Garmont since I didn't take initiative when it was clear that something was stalled. Garmont--you may never be able to exchange footwear orders to resolve size issues. There is no big fault in that. With the returns process, however, take a good look at it and improve it. I might be a corner case, but Garmont is better than this--I can see it in the quality of your goods and in the quality of the person who eventually helped me. I will make another attempt to order Garmont boots some time in the future. Sizing is a minor, no fault issue. Thank you!

I recently bought two pairs of Garmont Boots from Garmont Tactical. A pair of 9.81s and a pair of T4s. I bought them on the recommendation of my son who is in the infantry with the 10th Mountain Division. They are the most outstandingly comfortable shoe/boots I have ever owned. I was concerned about buying boots online because of the "fit." I ordered them to my regular size. And they fit perfectly. (I wear a USA 13 with a hard insole added to both boots.) I am incredibly happy with both pairs. Every time I put them on I say to myself, "Best boots I ever owned."

My daughter is in Army basic training and received a profile for better boots. I bough her a pair of boots online and had them sent directly to her in basic training. I put the wrong state and called customer service who assured me that I did put the correct state for delivery and they immediately emailed me a copy of what they saw on their side, along with a follow up email the next day assuring me that the boots were shipped. The customer service was kind and efficient. I will continue to purchase my daughter whatever she needs from Garmont Tactical because of their outstanding service and gear!

I've been wearing Garmont's for work for over the past 7 years and there are absolutely the way to go. If you're considering transitioning from Danner's, Oakley's or some other brand you won't be disappointed. One pair has lasted me 5 years with consistent rotation between two pairs. The fit is perfect and they can withstand constant use and abuse. The stitching and overall composition hold up extremely well and the only way I know that it's time to retire a pair is when I realize the sole of the boot is completely worn down.
