LA SPORTIVA A name known and recognized worldwide. Starting with LA immediately brings to mind LA FAMIGLIA, transporting us to the warmth of our parents and the encouragement they gave us on our adventures, which your equipment now accompanies us on. They also asked us to be careful, and safety is also present in your equipment, especially in that spectacular technical footwear that takes us to the top of the world! Your company has also been family-run since its foundation, and this creates a natural affinity because we would all like to belong to a family like that: from nothing, creating a brand specialized in a niche market that is not very broad, but still being known by lovers of this type of sport or not. I believe that your employees are considered part of the Delladio Family, and rightly so, because only in this way can the quality that has been maintained and evolved over all these years be achieved. I also believe that you consider your dealers to be the engine of your growth so far, which is undoubtedly true, and that you respect them as such, which is also commendable. However, the market is changing very rapidly, and online commerce, which I only recently discovered, will transform traditional commerce significantly. I love shopping in a brick-and-mortar store, being able to touch, try things on, see if they fit well, instead of ordering and having to return a product multiple times, as happened with the various purchases I made with you. However, on the internet, the offer is endless. And your website is archaic. Take a good look at your direct competitors. Try using The North Face's website and buy something. Then return it. And then tell me why someone who wants to buy an item from La Sportiva and, for some reason, wants to exchange or return it, in addition to packing it up, going to the post office or a courier service, putting on the label with the address, affixing the stamp, and paying a fortune to return the merchandise to you?! Couldn't you make a deal with a shipping company (UPS, DHL, or another) that charges you for round-trip service at a more economical price, like you do with any brand in the world?! Going back to the website. Try putting more than two filters on the items you want to search for and then start going back. It's impossible to see anything without having to go back to the beginning. Once again, checking competitor websites is good for us because we can always see new things. I recently bought something simple, some socks. I received them in a very pretty cardboard box with a sprig of lavender inside. To my surprise, they were from a company 50 km from my house, a family business like yours. As I needed thinner ones, I called the company and went in person to exchange them. Secret to success: they hired a young IT guy, one of those with disheveled hair and jeans that hadn't been washed in ages, who had developed the website that revolutionized that family business that had been making socks for ages and selling them in small shops and fairs all over the country. If you want, visit PEDEMEIA. Check out the pictures of the expeditions to the Himalayas, all dressed in The North Face and La Sportiva boots! But Scarpa is starting to appear. La Sportiva has all the necessary and highest quality material to be number 1, but the threats are there, starting with the shoes. Your dealers will always have their space, as there will always be those customers who like to handle the item, try it on, and wear it. However, stores will have to have your material to sell. If they don't buy your items, they won't be able to sell them either. Therefore, they won't be offended if your sales website evolves a little, especially since you don't usually have sales on your clothes and the stores do, so you can't even call yourselves competitors. You will only be competitors for items that don't exist in stores. I end by congratulating you once again on the excellent material you produce and that, finally, after returning, with great regret, the Lumina 300 and the Lumina 200, I managed to fit into a black Lumina 100 that I found in a store in Vigo (on sale), which made me very happy! However, I'm still fighting to lose weight so I can take the Lumina 200 to the Himalayas in October!! Big hug and may you continue to be happy and make others happy!

Our cooperation so far has been good. Unfortunately, La Sportiva insists on not having a branch in Greece.

The shoes that I purchased (eventually) were fantastic, but I had big problems placing the order using my account on your website. It took me several attempts to login, and had to change my password several times. But I persevered and got there in the end.

Sizing guide on the web page was brilliant. Product is fantastic. However, the custom duty I had to pay for delivery into the UK was a shock and very unexpected. I think La Sportiva missed an opportunity to be more transparent about such import costs. Hence only 4 stars.

My online order arrived trouble free and the Boulder X Mid boots are very good. However it would have been better if they were available in an Australian store to try on and avoid the expensive shipping cost (about $100).

Easy to order. A little pricey. Quick delivery but FedEx weren’t easy to contact for a change of day of delivery. Size 46 had good fit. Shoes are fine. I tried to break them in. First day 3km, 2:nd day 6 km, walking on gravel road- no problems. Very comfortable shoes. 3rd day a mountain hike in Norway of 14 km. I experienced a beginning blister on my left heel after 4 km which may very well be my fault. I put on a patch of compeed early and it helped. Next time I’ll use a liner sock underneath. Right shoe was very comfortable all together. The shoes had good grip and hopefully will be excellent once I get them broken in.

It was easy and smooth, and the products are great. The only problem is that it's very hard to find out the right shoe size without trying. I ordered my normal size, and had to go up to 4 sizes up... and it was still too small. It's a shame because the shoes were really nice and I'd have loved them if they fitted!

Cosmic Hoody XXL really a bit too short size for a tall (1.90m) person. So not suitable for the mountains, only city..

It was a good efficient service, given I placed the order in the UK. However, be warned "Fedex" then sent me a import charge of £54 on a product worth £140, so I assume that it's a scam. If there is an import tax La Sportiva should have alerted the buyer at the point of purchase.

Not very many of your shoes are in the larger sizes - 49.5.

Company information

La Sportiva was born in 1928 when Narciso Delladio hand-crafted wooden leather boots for many lumber-jacks and farmers of the Fassa and Fiemme valleys (Dolomites, Italy). After the war, the demand for boots increased obliging Narciso to hire new workers: the good name of "Calzoleria Sportiva" crossed the boarders of the valleys. Starting from here the La Sportiva’s history continued to grow. Now the firm produces in Fiemme Valley boots and shoes for all kind of outdoor activities from climbing and mountain, categories in which La Sportiva has the market leadership, to mountain running, trekking and the skimountaineerging market. Recently the company entered in the skimountaineering segment and in the apparel market with a complete selection of technical clothes for running, skimountaineering and climbing. La Sportiva who produces mainly in his headquarter at Ziano di Fiemme, is distributed in more then 70 countries worldwide.
