I tried to buy the shoes ( Asolo Cactus) in the U.S but no one had them. They are excellent shoes and I hope Asolo continues to make them. These shoes has received rave reviews in the U.S.

This Cactus was a nice surprise. An on five points improved Shiver. Mid instead of low, stronger heel with rubber cap, better ( wider) lace up, Which leaves rubber toe in better shape, better against moisture. And thus, a more beautiful, no cooler shoe. The sole is sill luckily the same...very grippy. Great allround footwear for trips in steep mountainous areas with running and climbing. Holding your feet in place.

Fit so well I bought a second pair! There are a few boot models that are not available on the U.S. market and took a chance on these based on the reviews. I was looking for a light weight, warm weather, waterproof hiking boot that was more like a sneaker but not look like a hiking boot. These look like an approach / climbing hybrid. I am a U.S. mens size 8. The boot it true to size. I have a narrow heel than average and the ball section of my foot is wider than average but not a wide size. The lacing system allows to tailor the fit so it can fit like a glove or loose enough to slide on and off if you don't lace the top 3 eyelets. The ankle height does offer adequate support but personally would not use them with a heavy pack. The footbed and feel is minimalist and comfortable comparable to the Merrell Trail Gloves that I own. I have a low arch and these are fine. Though I have a bad ankle and had to replace them with SuperFeet Carbons for a more rigid heel cup. I would not wear anything thicker than a lightweight padded sock. The soles of the Asolo are more rugged than the Merell's in that you can't feel every bump but you do have a feel of the ground below you. I would classify these boots as a light hiker for maintained trails. I have not been able to test out the water resistance of the Gore-Tex yet. My 2 previous Asolo boots' waterproof lining held up for 2 years. The Fugitive GTX and the Reston WP. Break in time was a day of casual walking. The only part of the boot that I had to break in is where the material creases above you toes. My toes happen to be longer than average and this break in area has been the case with every boot I have owned. The build quality is excellent. The boots are surprisingly light weight and look very good. I would recommend buying these while they are still available.

I always prefer to.wear boots over shoes and I'm always on the look out for good looking lightweight footwear like this. My third pair of Asolo boots and the most suitable for my needs as not at all bulky (it can look a little rediculous wearing bulky walking boots with shorts, especially when walking around the shops!). They're very comfortable and lightweight but with a sturdy supportive sole. Their weight came in handy when running through Liverpool to catch the last train home on Saturday night. I would recommend these and others have commented on them (positively).
