VENTO ARGO R3

Except the size 150mm which i dont know it is the right for me (i am a speciliazed toupe 143mm user for a lot of years bedore) the saddle is perfect and comfortable. I like and start to enjoy my rides with my new short nose saddle.

Build quality and ride quality is good. However it is very rigid and not suitable for moving around on foot. You can walk a few meters in it here and there but if the manufacturer's marketing is giving you the impression that this is some kind of crossover shoe that will let you be off the bike in it for some extended periods of time then it absolutely will not. Go check out some of the shoes that let you bend the tip of the foot without compromising the necessary in-ride stiffness.

Antares R1 Open

Antares R1 is a really light weight, well constructed, firm race seat feel with a cut out that is far to narrow for my perineum. I have three saddles designed by John Cobb and the cut out area is far more comfortable. Cobb saddles are heavy and I was looking a lighter saddle.

I purchased these along with a different model of shoe to test preference. I chose the others, but I did notice a few things about these before returning. Using a single dial to tighten the whole shoe leaves some room for improvement — shoe would benefit from a second BOA dial or perhaps a combination of BOA and hook-and-loop. Tightening the shoe down causes certain locations to fold and wrinkle, though this could have been a fit issue. VERY comfortable right out of the box. I did not use these on the bike so I cannot offer any true use-case input, or long-term thoughts.

Vento Overcurve X3

Comfortable right out of the box, and getting further broken in quickly. EXCELLENT power transfer — I'm riding faster, stronger, and easier in these shoes because of the sole's stiffness. Using a single dial to tighten the whole shoe leaves some room for improvement — shoe would benefit from a second BOA dial or perhaps a combination of BOA and hook-and-loop. The area of the outer sole between toes and heel is very slippery — if you miss your cleat and your foot lands on the pedal in this location, your foot will definitely slip off. This is a major oversight costing the shoe a 5-star review. Otherwise I love them!
