First impressions after the first day of use. I bought these boots after returning a pair of Salomons that developed holes near the lace reinforcement after only 29 days of use. As a result, durability was one of my primary selection criteria. My use case is not casual urban walking. I regularly walk several dogs, including a young Doberman, spend time in forests, dog training fields, wild life related environments, muddy access roads, and ongoing home renovation projects. Initial observations: * Very comfortable from day one. * No significant pressure points. * Deep lacing system provides excellent adjustability, although aesthetically it took some getting used to. * Minor heel movement, which I expect to improve further after adding my preferred insoles. * Stable and confidence-inspiring on uneven ground. * More hiking-oriented in feel than the "tactical" category initially suggested to me. The true durability test will come after several months of Dutch weather, mud, forests, dog training sessions, and being dragged around by an enthusiastic Doberman. However, the first impression is extremely positive. If they survive working dog durability protocol, I will happily update this review.
