I needed to have my Boots resoled and when I looked it up online I got the Italian site and they had a resoling process. I contacted Asolo via their site to get the ball rolling. Part of the process in getting the resoling process approved, they needed a some information so I let them know the problem, took the required pics of the boots as well as let them know I was located in the US and would be shipping internationally. In a separate msg I asked what the turnaround time was and they said 2weeks after they received the boots. I received my approval from Asolo and packaged the boots exactly the way they asked including the Customs documents and sent them off on the 19th of July. The boots quickly made their way to Italy then stalled in Naples where it was held in Customs. I gave it until the 31st of July being held and reached out to the USPS and started an official Inquiry. They responded about a week later notifying me that Italian Customs needs additional info from the Addressee to release the package and they have already reached out to Asolo and received no response. I then reached out to Asolo and Carol from Asolo International Customer Service contacted me via email letting me know that they are aware of my boots in Customs and that my resoling order will not be canceled while they wait for the boots to arrive. I waited another week and a half and my boots were still being held in customs. I reached out again to Carol and heard nothing for more than a week. I started looking online for a way to speak with a person a Asolo rather than going by email which was confusing with the broken english being used and I was not sure that Carol understood what was going on, if she understood that Customs needed additional information and if she was, she was not able to articulate that and answer the questions I had. In my search I found the US side of the Asolo company and reached out via telephone and never received a call back. While I was poking around the US Asolo site I found they also do resoling but they have 2 approved Cobblers stateside that do the repairs for less money and a fraction in shipping costs. I reached out a final time to Carol at Asolo Italy and finally received a response saying in confusing english that they've already responded to Customs and "this doesn't depend from us." That was August 28th and at that point I've already canceled 1 backpacking trip and have a race in the beginning of September that I wound up wearing sneakers for because I wasn't spending $400 on new Asolo boots when I'm already more that $200 in for a repair on boots that are being held in Customs and I'm not able to get in contact with anyone at Asolo in Italy or the US. On the 11th of September I received a message from Ludovica that my boots have been received but I needed to send additional money to cover the import charge at Euro 29,30. I paid the additional money my boots were fixed and made it back to me in only a few days. I'm very disappointed with the poor level of communication and very angry that when I contacted Asolo initially in Italy that they sent me on this crazy and expensive repair journey that could have been done for literally 1/4 the cost and a fracture of the time. Someone could have simply transferred me to the US side of the business or given me a different number to call. I absolutely love my boots and plan on purchasing another pair that's a touch larger and will most likely have them for life as I will just have them resoled. If someone actually reads this at Asolo I hope they reach out to discuss.

Dear customer, thank you for taking the time to review our service and we will take into consideration all your comments for the future. Please, kindly know that the process is explained in details before requesting the resoling - customers are aware that the shipping is at their expensive, that the process takes 15 days from the moment that the boots arrive at our Headquarter (unfortunately we cannot predict for how long customs hold the box) and that the duties are an additional fee for importing the goods. Il mio paio di Asolo era da risuolare così tramite il sito ho effettuato la procedura di richiesta di risuolatura e ho spedito gli scarponi. Mi sono stati restituiti come nuovi, sono molto soddisfatta perchè sono affezionata a quel paio di scarpe e non volevo buttarle!

The fact that Asolo offers a re-soling service in the first place is tremendous. The website interface to request service was clear; communications after they received my boots were prompt and courteous; and my boots came back so clean I had to look closely to be sure they weren't just a brand new pair. I have no expertise in soles, but the new ones appear precisely applied, no gaps or glue visible. They took their time cleaning the rest of the fabric; replaced the laces, included a new spare set of laces, and sent back the old laces (which weren't too badly off) neatly wrapped. The only headache was shipping them internationally on my own, but the rest was easy, and despite tariffs came out to just a little less than a brand new pair (and I still get my old, well-fit boot back).

I had my hiking boots resoled, and they are amazing. They look like new boots!!! I was so happy with the quality that I smile every time I look at them. Grazie.

I recently had my trusty 20-year-old Asolo hiking boots resoled, and the experience exceeded all my expectations! I have 10 yr old hiking boots which were lovingly cared for but the midsole disintegrated. A lot of time and money was spent on trying to find a comparable replacement, but never satisfactorily. Then I discovered that they could be returned to Italy for resoling. The results are excellent and I'm extremely pleased.
